tips

1.

Know where your main water shut off is.

If a pipe started leaking in you house would you know where to shut it off? If you live in a single family residence your shut off will most likey be on the outside of your garage. If you live in a condo, your shut off will probably be located with your water heater/ AC unit.

2.

Toilet running?

Most of the time a simple flapper replacement solves the problem. It's a simple repair that most homeowners can do and save some money. If your toilet continues to run after a flapper replacment, your toilet tank will need a rebuild. If you are in need of a tank rebuild, feel free to give us a call.

3.

Are you a seasonal resident?

Turn off the main water to your residence while you're away! A leaky pipe while you're gone can cause alot of damage and headache. You can also turn off your water heater to save some money on your power bill!

4.

Run a little water in your soaker tub once a month

A lot of people rarely use their tubs in master bathrooms. Without use, the water in the p-trap will evaporate and could allow sewer gas to enter your home. Simply running a little water, once a month, will replenish the water in the p-trap and keep sewer gas where it belongs, in the sewer!

5.

Stay away from chemical drain cleaners

Chemical drain cleaners can damage metalic pipe and fittings. If your drain is completely clogged, there is no way the chemicals can work there way to the clog. Your drain is getting clogged for a reason, chemical drain openers only treat the symptom not the problem. If you are in need of professional drain cleaning feel free to give us a call.
